Q: What are the highest and lowest temperatures ever recorded on earth's surface? - Stan Hackett

A: On September 12, 1922 the temperature soared to 136°F in Al Aziziyah, Libya. At the other extreme, 129°F below zero was recorded at Vostok, Antarctica on July 21, 1983.
