Q: What is the most rainfall received in a 24-hour time period?

A: According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 73.62 inches of rain fell at La Reunion Island, Indian Ocean on March 15- 16, 1952. Alvin, Texas owns the U.S. record with 43 inches on July 25-26, 1979.
