Perfect Pet - Friday, 2/20/20

Why hello, I’m Abby, a 7-year-old altered female Jack Russell Terrier mix. I am a friendly and outgoing gal. I’m also very athletic and just love to play. A game of fetch anyone? My new owner should be very active, be willing to give me daily exercise to help me lose weight, and have some animal experience. I can live with other dogs my size but no cats please. Children in the home should be 10 and up.

Beginning this morning, I’m forecasting 36 hours of dry weather.

Clear and colder weather this morning morphs into sunshine, high clouds and warmer weather this afternoon with highs in the lower to middle 60s.

Increasing clouds and not as cool tonight, lows in the lower to middle 40s.

Clouds lower and thicken Saturday, but we remain dry and warm during the day, middle to upper 60s.

Rain returns to our neighborhoods at 6 PM Saturday with chances remaining through Thursday.

Rain cools our highs Sunday, lower 60s.

Look for 1 - 3 feet of fresh powder on slopes in the Sierra this weekend.

Forecast - Thursday, 2/26/09

Our morning light rain moves east by 9am.  Look for decreasing clouds this afternoon and temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s.  Southerly winds shift and blow from the northwest this afternoon.

Mainly clear tonight with patchy fog developing in our deepest valleys where the coolest lows will be found, upper 30s to lower 40s.  Not as cold around the Bay and Coast, lower to middle 40s.

High clouds and sunshine dominate Friday’s sky.  Afternoon temperatures will be a few degrees warmer.

Rain returns to the Bay around 6 PM Saturday.

Forecast - Wednesday, 2/25/09

Morning drizzle and light rain gives way to a mostly cloudy sky and scattered afternoon showers.

Temperatures tumble a few degrees today, landing in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Showers become more widespread this evening and overnight.  Rainfall amounts will be light, .10” - .25”.  Lows dip into the middle 40s Thursday morning.

Look for increasing sunshine and warmer weather late Thursday afternoon.  Highs warm into the lower to middle 60s.

FORECAST - Tuesday, 2/24/09

Drier air takes away the rain and punches a few holes in the cloud cover today.

Under a partly sunny , highs reach the middle to upper 50s in the North Bay with lower 60s elsewhere. 

Our sky becomes cloudy with patchy drizzle tonight.  Lows dip into the middle to upper 40s.

Rain returns to the North Bay Wednesday afternoon and spreads south across the Bay Wednesday evening into Thursday. Rainfall totals range from .50 inches to 1 inch in the North Bay with .25 inches to .50 inches elsewhere.

Forecast - Monday, 2/23/09

Periods of light rain today. 

With a gray wet sky overhead, today’s high temperatures reach the upper 50s to lower 60s.  Rainfall amounts reach .10” - .25” by tomorrow morning.

Our light rain tapers to drizzle and fog tonight.  Lows will be cooler than this morning, middle to upper 40s.

Pockets of sunshine return to Tuesday’s forecast with afternoon temperatures nearly 3 – 5 degrees warmer.

Perfect Pet - Friday, 2/20/09

Mitch:

I am a 4 ½ year old, 22 pound, tan and cream, neutered male Terrier mix.

I’m a super special guy. If you know and like terriers, we may be meant for each other. I do have some special needs: a home outside the city, with a backyard, and an experienced, active, dog person. No dog parks or off leash for me. Not always the best with other dogs, although my behavior has greatly improved thanks to the trainers, staff, and volunteers at The SF/SPCA.  I now, even have a room mate at the shelter, and have had successful play sessions with some choice dog friends. No cats either. You’ll want to complete a special needs adoption survey to see if really are meant to be.

High pressure brings us more sunshine and warmth today.

Under a mostly sunny sky, afternoon temperatures warm into the lower to middle 60s with a slight offshore breeze.

Clear sky tonight with patchy fog forming in our East and North Bay valleys.  Temperatures dip into the middle to upper 30s Inland with lower to middle 40s around the Bay and Coast.

Thursday will be sunny and warmer with highs surging into the upper 60s.

Forecast - Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Drier and warmer weather arrives today and lasts through Saturday afternoon.

We will see sunshine today as the cloud cover decreases. Under a partly sunny sky, high temperatures warm 5 to 10 degrees this afternoon, upper 50s to lower 60s.

Valley fog develops the next couple of nights. The lack of widespread cloud cover allows lows to dip into the upper 30s to lower 40s Inland with lower to middle 40s around the Bay and Coast.
