Antarctica's Gamburstev Mountains

A little background .... I earned a degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Kansas. During my time at KU, I had the pleasure of learning from our newest professors, Dr. David Braaten. Dr. Braaten was a wonderfully generous professor who could relate to the struggles and challenges his students faced. He brought cutting edge ideas and experiments along with a refreshing change in the atmosphere in our department.
It really didn't surprise me when I received Dr. Braaten's e-mail detailing his latest research project. He was joining other scientist in studying Antarctica's hidden Gamburstev Mountains.
Dr. Braaten chronicled his entire trip from December 1, 2008 - January 22, 2009. If you have a few minutes, I believe you'll enjoy reading about his journey. Make sure you read his posts from the bottom of the page to the top.
Before reading Dr. Braaten's posts, you can get an overview of the trip written by another scientist.
