Fall Flavored Forecast

Share

A dramatic drop in afternoon temperatures occurred yesterday and continues today.  The oppressively hot high pressure moved east Monday.  In its wake, our cooling sea breeze returned and started the cooling trend.

A cold front is rolling through the Bay this morning and producing light rain.  The evaporating raindrops (virga) is helping cool the atmosphere even further along with the colder air arriving behind the front.  Also, helping is a faster sea breeze.

The air behind our cold front comes from Alaska.  It's is cold enough to produce snow showers in the Sierra tonight.
