Say hello to Niko and Mei Mei.  They are a wonderful pair of bonded Chihuahuas from the Peninsula Humane Society.  Niko and Mei Mei will win your heart and make you smile! 

Mei Mei is a 1.5-year-old white female.  Mei Mei is partially blind but is very active and will bound along after you for treats and pets – you can hardly tell she has a disability.

Niko is the red/brown male and is almost 2-years-old.  Niko is fascinated with tennis balls even though they are only a little smaller than his head. 

This kind and playful pair must go home together. They can be adopted by a first time pet owner ready for their high energy level. Also, part of their adoption requires mandatory training. They can live with other resident dogs and possibly other pets. Children in the home must be 10 & older.  Come see these two - we rarely get a bonded pair, so this is an opportunity to get "twice the love".  Their ID's are A463096 and A466082.

Bay Area Air Quality this Winter

The Winter Spare the Air season runs from November 1^st through the end of February. 

So far this year, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued seven Winter Spare the Air alerts.  Thanks to the nearly constant parade of storms and the clean air they bring, the Bay Area has experienced only 6 days with poor air quality. 

We average 15 to 20 "Spare the Air" alerts per season.

Record Low Maximum Temperatures Yesterday

An all-day rain held our temperatures well below average yesterday afternoon.

 
San Francisco, Mountain View, and Santa Rosa either tied or set a new record low maximum temperature(also called, record cold high temperature).

San Francisco:  59° (tied) - 59° in 1969

Mountain View:  53° (new) - 54° in 2001

Santa Rosa:  49° (new) - 51 in 1916

High Altitude Wind Turbines

You can see ground-based wind driven electric generators around the Bay.  What if you could tether a wind turbine 6 miles into the sky where jet stream winds blow constantly and contain more energy than civilization needs.  Tonight, on ABC 7 News at 6 PM, I will show you this.

Live Doppler 7 HD is located on Mt. St. Helena in the North Bay. An ideal spot for winter storms sliding south from Alaska. We also utilize The National Weather Service radar on Mt. Umunhum for storms coming from the south.

AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am

Not sure we could create any better weather conditions for this weekend's tournament.  The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am tees off today at 8 AM.  Our wet winter has painted the three courses (Pebble Beach Golf Links, MPCC Shore Course, Spyglass Hill Golf Course) several shades of green. 

 
 Are February weekends like this the reason we tolerate such a high cost of living....
