Monday's Record Highs, Big Weekend Changes

Yesterday was the last of two days in which we experienced record warm afternoon temperatures around the Bay.  Other than Kentfield's record from 1938, these new and tied record highs were set within the last 5 years.

The high pressure over Nevada responsible for the record warmth was pushed away to the southeast by a cold front to our east last night.  Even though afternoon temperatures drop today, we will still be warmer than average.

Afternoon temperatures cool 4 to 6° everyday from Wednesday through Saturday.  This weekend's high temperatures will be cooler than Monday's morning lows.

By Friday, the storm track returns to the Bay Area as the high pressure over the Pacific Ocean weakens.  A storm will ride the jet stream from Alaska to the Bay Area and brings a cool, wet and breezy weekend.
