The high temperature yesterday at the official weather station for Death Valley, Furnace Creek, soared to 124° tying a record high last set in 1929. Including this, there have been only 25 instances of high temperatures 124° or warmer in June in Death Valley since records began in 1911. The last time it was this hot in June was on the 24th & 25th of 2006 when in reached 125°. The all-time June record high is 128° set on the 29th of 1944.
